Use this as a teaching moment. I tell children at the studio, \u201cIt\u2019s okay to feel angry, it\u2019s not okay to act mean.\u201d I usually give a form of time out to the child while they process this idea.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can use this as an adult as well. Rather than lash out, sometimes, you have to just give yourself a time out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With my own children, I might say, \u201cI\u2019m so angry, I can\u2019t talk to you right now. We\u2019ll talk about it later.\u201d This is an important time for you to calm down and also so you don\u2019t throw out some threat of a punishment you don\u2019t really want<br>to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As far as punishments go, it is important to have your consequences in mind<br>before something comes up, but that\u2019s a discussion for another blog. (Check out the \u201cIf you say it, do it\u201d topic, coming soon)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>But for this one, feel your feelings, use your manners, explain your actions. This is especially important when parents fight in front of the children. As a rule, you try to present a united front to your children, but if that doesn\u2019t happen and an argument ensues, just make sure that your children see you make-up, too. They should learn the forgiveness part of disagreements as well.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more on this, feel free to message us!
